By day, the sun breathes fire against my skin. It’s a life-giving fire. Its warmth seeps inside me and rekindles every exhausted corner of my soul. By night, the backyard beckons me to tread upon its cool blades of green. With each step, the grass conforms to my feet and embraces them. With each step, I curl my toes just a little bit deeper into the earth. I am complete again.
